Our team will write the script for your video abstract based on your revised or accepted manuscript. Please, therefore, make sure to revise your paper according to any reviewer comments received from the journal before requesting this service, and upload the revised manuscript to us. Once we have written the script, you should then submit the script to the journal along with your revised manuscript files so the script can be reviewed by the reviewers/editorial team. Once the script has been approved, we will then start work on the animations/graphics.

  • To publish an article extender (infographic, video abstract, or plain language summary) alongside your article, the article extender (or audio transcript in the case of video abstracts) must be submitted to the journal prior to the article acceptance to allow for peer-review, as per Sage policies. It is therefore important to let your Sage Editor know as soon as you decide that you would like to include an article extender so that they can hold your article pre-acceptance while the article extender is created.
  • If you decide to include an article extender after your revised paper has been peer-reviewed (but before acceptance), the article extender will still have to be peer-reviewed, which may lead to a delay in the publication of your article.
  • Sage Author Services and Sage Journals are not able to add article extender(s) to an article once the article has been published online.
